Mid Week Update

10/02/2015, 3:15pm EDT
By Sarah

Good Morning,

Few more updates for today...

- Tournament Hotel: We have been assigned to the Embassy Suites - Independence
hotel.  Most rooms come with a king size bed and pull-out couch.  If you require
2 double-beds and a pull-out couch please let me know ASAP.  The hotel
coordinator expects to have us in her system by Monday so I will be talking to
her then to let her know.  I have already heard from Seppala, Tanner and
Schrader that they DO want 2 doubles plus pull-out couch.

- Scrimmage: We have our first scrimmage planned!  October 17, 2015 at 10:50am
(Note: We are switching ice times with the PWB team that day so we will NOT have
practice at 6:50p as noted on GAHA schedule).  We will be playing the AUBURN ICE
HAWKS, a/k/a Nate's old team!  This is very exciting for us, but especially for
Nate as we will be playing his former coach and several teammates.  Later in the
season we hope to travel to Auburn to reciprocate the scrimmage!

- Tournament: We have also been asked by the Auburn Ice Hawks (Nate's former
coach) to participate in their Winter Freeze Tournament December 5-6 (flyer
attached).  We were planning to participate in 2 tournaments this year
(financially speaking) and were considering a local tournament in February -
March.  However, Coach Jack and I agreed we should ask for your opinions.  Would
anyone be interested in another out-of-town tournament?  Would we participate in
3 tournaments (would require extra fundraising/direct funding)?  Please share
your thoughts with me or Coach Jack.

- GAHA Homecoming: November 7-8... Please mark your calendars as we are
guaranteed to have a home game that weekend (most likely on Saturday).  Also,
our team is required to put together a basket for the GAHA raffle.  I did budget
for this, meaning I have the funds to support it (required to be valued at
$100), but I would LOVE ideas!!!  Let me know if you have any creativity to
spare...

- Clinic: I received information on another Columbus Day checking clinic in
Buffalo.  Please see the attached flyer for details.

- Game Schedule: Empire game scheduling is October 13th.  Like Coach Francelmont
said, knowing me I will have the schedule all "sparkly" and in your email boxes
by midnight that night!  However, before going to the scheduling meeting, please
let me know of any potential conflicts for your player.  We do not generally
schedule games during the week but its not a bad idea for me to know those
conflicts any way for practice (thinking things like school concerts, plays,
etc).  We will do our best to accomodate as many as possible (and especially
Mitchel!) but please understand we are sometimes at the mercy of ice slots and
can not always accomodate... Thankfully we have 18 players!

As always, let me know if you have questions or conerns.

Thanks!
Sarah
