The Castilone Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ramparts pee wee Tier III youth hockey team capped off a strong season with a fourth-place finish at the New York State 12-and-under Tournament in Amherst recently.

In their first game, the Ramparts disposed of Cortland 5-3 thanks to Ethan Hutchins’ four goals — the first of which came eight seconds into the game.

Sam Sallome also lit the lamp for Batavia, which received assists from Cameron Ells, Jared Hardies, Mark Anauo, Devin Grimshaw, Grant Hens and Kevin Tourt.

Game two saw Batavia overcome a three-goal first-period deficit to stun Chazy Youth 4-3.

Baylee D’Alba and Hardies scored in the second period to bring the Ramparts within 3-2. Sallome tied the game in the third period, then Grimshaw notched the game-winning tally with four minutes left. Grimshaw, Ells and D’Alba had assists.

In the third game, Bronxville scored three times in the third period to break a tie and went on to defeat Batavia 5-2.

Grimshaw and Zac Akin found the net for the Ramparts, with D’Alba posting an assist.

Batavia advanced to the semifinals, but ran into Tri-Town — the top-ranked team in the North — and lost 5-0.

Tri-Town went on to win the state title.

Jacob Snieszko and Ethan Conrad split goaltending duties throughout the weekend for Batavia.

The Ramparts were coached by Mike Reich.
